Steps to follow:
1

The materials you need to make a car air fresher at home are:

  • Cardboard
  • Fabric
  • Suitable non-toxic glue, paper and cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Drill or similar tool to make a hole
  • Tape, thread, cord; or a rubber band
  • Essential oil or a mixture of fragrance oils to choose from
  • A pipette or dropper (optional)
  • Paper
  • Marker or something to draw with

The main materials can be recycled, using an old cardboard box, and an old dress from your aunt. If you want. The typical design includes the shape of a pine or tree. Any design you want to do is fine. Draw only the outline on a sheet of paper.

2

Once we have made a drawing of what will be our air freshener, we have to cut the template and then place it on the cloth to cut two pieces of fabric.

3

The next step is to give consistency to the homemade car air freshener and to do this, we have to place the template on the cardboard and cut it out.

4

Then you'll have to glue the fabric on each side of the carton and let it dry.

5

Carefully dropped 10 to 20 drops of your chosen oil on each side of the cardboard. Remember the rule to combine essential oils: the same number of drops for each aroma. Leave to dry.

If you do not know what essence is best for your car, you can go for a fruity scent such as orange, a classic aroma such as peppermint or a more exotic one like grapefruit.

6

Punch a hole in the top of the air freshener. Pass the string through and tie a knot and you're done!

Now you can leave the air freshener hanging from the rear-view mirror of your car. When you feel it no longer freshens the car, it's time for a few more drops of essential oil, so top it up!
