Steps to follow:

1

If your air conditioner doesn't blow cold air it could be because the filter compartment is dirty or stuck. In this case, you can clean it yourself or even change this element. Check the car manual to find its location.

2

Another cause for your air conditioning not cooling is the existence of a refrigeration gas leak. This can simply be caused by a loose pipe connection. You can find the leak yourself putting soapy water in the pipes.

Switch the air conditioning on. You'll find the leak where bubbles come out. If you have a gas leak, you just need to seal it. Then, you'll have to charge the air conditioning gas to refill. Always do so will the appropriate material.

3

If the leak has been created due to a broken pipe, you'll have to take the car to a specialist, where professionals will seal the leak and charge the gas.

4

The air conditioner compressor, a key element in the system, must be correctly lubricated all the time. If, due to a fault or bad maintenance, this piece doesn't work properly, the air won't cool. You'll need to go to a mechanic's to repair it.

5

Air conditioning can not cool due to a fault in the electric system that doesn't allow the fans to work properly or that just make them work every so often. The most recommendable thing to do is let a specialist deal with it.

I have a 2010 Toyota rav4 2.5 litter Sport model with 64K miles on it. The car worked well in the last 2 years but this year it didn't blow the cold air as it should. The only thing I can make the AC works is to reset the ECU by removing the negative cable from the car's battery for a couple of minutes then reconnected back to the battery. The compressor, fuses, and relays related to the AC in my car are working perfectly. Now if I want my AC working in my car, I have to do this in order to have the AC working. What's wrong? Thanks.

Thank you for sharing what we need to do if the air conditioner isn't blowing cold air. My car is a 2001 Honda Civic and recently, the air conditioner hasn't been working properly. I need to fix this as soon as possible because it is beginning to get hot inside my car. This six step process has been very helpful and I will definitely try this. If that is not the problem, I will have to call a professional to help me out! -Chris
